Installation – “S[PARK]LE”

S[PARK]LE is a play of words. It is a structure that combines color, translucency, transparency, and light. It also occupies a conventional parking spot (10′ x 20′ approximately) in Downtown Knoxville. The structure or frame is built out of standard wood framing that has been covered with a translucent or polycarbonate sheet. Inside the frame, is an exciting meandering experience of transparent sheets of cellophane with different colors. The colors blend together within the structure and the light is refracted through sheets casting colors onto the pavement of the parking spot.
