Urban Wilderness Gateway Park Block Party

The City of Knoxville held a block party event at the terminus of the James White Parkway to solicit input on the future of the area.  A design team led by Sanders Pace Architecture and PORT Urbanism is working on the project with Phase 1 including a $10 million investment in infrastructure and amenities at what will become the main entry into Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness.

Sanders Pace Architecture and PORT Urbanism receive Award of Merit from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

The Knoxville Battlefield Loop project received honors at the annual TN ASLA Gala in Nashville.  The project provides a comprehensive framework for the future development of a collection of significant cultural and historical sites located just 2 miles from downtown Knoxville.  The first construction project to be implemented, the entrance to Augusta Quarry at Fort Dickerson Park, was recently approved by the City Council and will start construction this summer.

Brandon Pace receives Tau Sigma Delta Silver Medal at University of Tennessee 2o18 Awards Ceremony.

Brandon Pace was selected as the 2018 recipient of the Tau Sigma Delta Silver Medal, joining former Dean Bill Lacy and iconic professor Stroud Watson as recipients of the honor.  The Silver Medal is awarded by chapters to a Professional with a record of distinction in design in the field of Architecture, Landscape Architecture or the Allied Arts.

Sanders Pace wins 2 awards at AIA East Tennessee Design Awards Gala

Sanders Pace Architecture received 2 awards at the annual gala.  the Historic Ely Building project received an Award of Merit while the Pembroke Downtown Loft project received a Citation Award.  Very proud of our team and these two projects.

Sanders Pace Architecture receives Community Impact Award

The City of Knoxville honored Sanders Pace Architecture with the Community Impact award during the 2018 Equity Awards breakfast which celebrates the local partners and projects that contribute to the city’s mission to revitalize low and moderate income communities and strengthen all neighborhoods.  We’re thank Mayor Rogero and the Community Development Department for their support for important work happening in these inner city neighborhoods.

February 2018

John Sanders elevated to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects.

The 2018 Jury of Fellows elevated 152 AIA members and two international architects to its prestigious College of Fellows for achieving a standard of excellence in the profession.  The investiture ceremony will take place this summer in New York City as part of the annual AIA Conference on Architecture.  Congratulations John on this well deserved honor!

Our Press Room project is featured on the Inside of Knoxville blog today.  The project is an adaptive reuse of the 1925 Dewine Building in the historic Fourth and Gill neighborhood which will open as an event space and catering kitchen in March.  Read more about the project HERE.
