Western Heights Transformation breaks ground!

Construction is officially underway on the Transforming Western Connections Building and Destination Park, a major milestone in the ongoing Transforming Western initiative. Designed by Sanders Pace in collaboration with Merritt Chase Landscape Architecture, the project will create a new community destination centered on education, entrepreneurship, recreation, and gathering. The Connections Building will be home to Real Good Kitchen and Junior Achievement of East Tennessee, while the adjacent Destination Park will offer splash pads, playgrounds, flexible event spaces, and accessible connections throughout the site. Together, the project represents a significant investment in the future of the Western Heights neighborhood and is expected to open in 2027.
