A series of new entrances to the campus of Western Carolina University, beginning with the main entrance at Highway 411. The project utilizes layered tiers of native stone which ascend from the ground plane to punctuate the primary entry entry axis into the university. 2″ thick dark bronze letters carrying the University’s name project from the upper stone tier. Earth berms are created at the ends and rear of the wall to accept the stone an further integrate the walls into the surrounding landscape.
