Loghaven Artist Residency featured in Architect Magazine
The Gateway Building at the Loghaven Artist Residency was featured in the Architectural Lighting section of the October issue of Architect Magazine. in an article titled How to Keep Skies Dark at Night, lighting designer Francesca Bastianini with Brooklyn-based Sighte Studio explains how the weathered wood surfaces of the Gateway Building subtly glow without creating unnecessary light trespass.

Brandon Pace serves as Design Awards Jury chair for 2020 AIA Ohio Design Awards Program.
Brandon served as chair of the regional jury which included Brian Bell of BLDGS in Atlanta, David Bailey of Hastings in Nashville, Erin Sterling Lewis of openstudio in Raleigh, and Matt Seltzer of Archimania in Memphis. Awards were presented via ZOOM at AIA Ohio’s Virtual Awards Gala.

Sanders Pace Architecture receives 2 awards at 2020 AIA Gulf States Awards Ceremony
The Artist Cabins at the Loghaven Artist Residency received a Merit Award, and Dominion Group received an Honor Award. The Los Angeles based jury selected 16 award winners from projects submitted by firms practicing in Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. We’re honored to receive the awards and humbled to be in such good company!
The events of past weeks are a wake up call shining light on decades of unfairness, inequality, and injustice. During these uncertain times we look to our own past both as reminders of transgressions and oppression as well as sources for inspiration and rays of hope. We stand committed to fight for equality and justice for all members of our community. We must do better. We will do better.

John Sanders to serve on AIA New Mexico 2020 Honor Awards Jury
Jury chair Nate Hudson has invited John to review the work of the AIA New Mexico chapter along with other jury members. The annual gala has been postponed to a later date.
The Press Room and Augusta Quarry at Fort Dickerson Park each received an Orchid Award at this year’s awards presentation. The Press Room received the award in the award in the Redesign/Reuse category and Augusta Quarry at Fort Dickerson Park received the award in the Outdoor Space category. We’re proud of these projects and proud of the collaboration with both the Owners and the design team members. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners!
In this lecture Brandon will explore how the varied historic, social, and cultural circumstances of his City has helped to establish the foundation and framework for the Firm’s design process. Brandon will share the stories of several active and recently completed projects to illustrate how this process plays out in ways which challenge local convention in ways which raise expectations and heighten awareness of important issues within the City.
