Sanders Pace Architecture receives Merit Award at the annual AIA Tennessee Design Awards Gala.
The McIlwaine Friendship Pavilion on the campus of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture received a Merit Award from the Tennessee chapter of the American Institute of Architects at the annual Design Awards Gala in Franklin, Tennessee. Located at the heart of the UT Gardens, the project is the first official outdoor classroom on the University of Tennessee campus. The pavilion provides a fitting setting for educational and cultural events while also serving as a much needed revenue source funding research and community outreach initiatives which are at the core of the mission of the UT Gardens.
The jury appreciated the analytical nature of the project which led to a careful, thoughtful, exquisitely detailed solution.
